KEY PRINCIPLES FROM THIS MESSAGE:
“suppress” – from katecho [present active participle means it functions as a verbal adjective ending in “-ing”]; means to hold back, hold fast, retain [Strong’s]
Refusing to accept the Truth doesn’t change it.
God’s grace isn’t reserved JUST for His elect. His grace is observable through His creation (ref: Ro 1:19-20; Mt 5:45).
To reject God’s grace is to reject His very essence.
To denounce creationism is to denounce the Creator.
When the perceived ownership of a grace gift shifts from God to you, you lose the greater blessing of a life filled with gratitude. You also suffer greater sorrow when the blessing is removed.
Putting Out of Your Mind – by Dr. Bob Rotella
Everyone’s got to hear “no” sometimes…The good putter thinks similarly. If he misses a putt, he reviews his performance. Did he clear his mind of all thoughts but the target? Did he make a free, confident stroke? If he did, he did all he could do. If he still missed, he just mentally shrugs his shoulders.
Minimizing the importance of a putt is much more helpful than maximizing it.
– Chapter, Gaining Control By Giving Up Control
God’s Word states that to find peace (a life no longer “out of control”) we are to surrender control of outcomes to the Lord, our Master. Instead, we are to focus on our duties (ala Ecc 12:13).
We enjoy an “in control” life by simply doing duty as unto the Lord.
