Part 26 – Commitment, Responsibility, and Accountability To the Local Church

Putting ourselves in another’s shoes motivates us to be compassionate and to give and serve where we may not have thought to; and that’s a very good thing.

Jesus allowed Himself to be “moved with compassion”. So should we. We mustn’t be afraid to be moved for good, godly reasons; such as helping the weak!!

Compassion is often most amplified, and therefore the most fruitful, when both parties have similar experiences. Such is the value of regularly gathering, as sheep under a pastor at NCC, or as members of the Body of Christ.

“sympathize” – from sumpatheo – means to feel “sympathy” with, i.e. (by implication) to commiserate; to have compassion, be touched with a feeling of.

We can be confident in going to Jesus with absolutely ANYTHING, because He can sympathize with ANY AND EVERY temptation we face!

Even in the face of awkward or difficult conversations, and even if you’re tempted to judge someone, always bring it back to the Gospel. Always bring it back to Jesus, Himself!! HE is our safe zone!!

Before you speak, check to see if you are walking by the Spirit (vs. your flesh), and then choose your words wisely, seeking reconciliation for all parties to God. With unbelievers, the goal is evangelism. With fellow believers, it’s realignment with God’s will.

A changed heart is an inspired heart!
