God’s Word is our lifeline, always, to get back to “the mind of Christ” each and every day we wake up. 1Co 2:16
Our job is to come to the table… the table of God’s bread; His Word. When we come to the table in humility to learn God’s Word, God teaches us and even acts on our behalf.
If you want to OBEY the commands of God that directly relate to human emotions (e.g., “rejoice always” – 1Th 5:16), then, “set your mind on the things of the Spirit” (Ro 8:5), aka, the “sacred writings that are able to make you wise” (2Ti 3:15).
Faith isn’t faith if it opposes God’s will. God would never provide a gift that is imperfect (ala Jas 1:17).
God’s faith WORKS!!!
In God’s grand plan for the ages, OT and NT saints are all in this together, as a family. Salvation is an eternal concept, not a point-in-time one. Therefore, to fully understand God’s salvific plan, we mustn’t be nearsighted; rather, we must consider it as spanning millennia (all human history, even).

Just because someone says they love Jesus or believes in Him doesn’t mean it’s the Jesus Christ that we know and love, “the alpha and the omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”” (Revelation 22:13). I know a lot of people who say they love “a” Jesus, but, upon deeper inspection, whoever he is, he’s definitely not the Jesus of the Bible and the gospel this so-called Jesus represents is not the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which leads me to conclude that it originated with the kingdom of darkness (as all false gospels have been).

Even unbelievers can do good deeds for others. Does that constitute saving faith in Jesus Christ? Nope. It’s Truth that counts, which is an issue of the mind, not human emotions.

As a rule of thumb, you should never assume you’re talking about the same Jesus until you’ve understood what a person believes about Him and His finished work on the Cross. If their Gospel is wrong, nothing else really matters.
