If you’re a man, God puts a premium on you taking care of your family. Your greatest example is the Lord Jesus Christ, whose main concern wasn’t physical sustenance (Luke 9:58; 12:6-7) but rather spiritual sustenance (John 4:34; 6:53-58; 1 Thessalonians 5:23). He is your prototype Husband.
Men, your greatest responsibility to your family is to lead them spiritually; to love them the way Christ loves His Bride. There is no excuse to the contrary. When you chose to marry your wife, you chose to love her. “Let your ‘yes’ be yes”, Jesus said. You have a profound responsibility to your family (and by extension, your church family).
Today is ALWAYS an opportunity to go forward from the past. Things can always change if you’re still alive, STARTING TODAY!! 🙂 Isn’t that beautiful?!
Accountability to the local church implies a reckoning. Based on Holy Scripture, as understood by a well-taught congregation, each member has the God-given duty to hold each other accountable to God’s divine standards.
By holding one another accountable in the church, we tighten up the reins of righteousness, and as a community become stronger together.
