Part 4 – This Is My Commandment, That You Love One Another

Our Position of Spiritual Strength

If we are not residing in the sphere of love with God, we cannot fulfill His commands to love. Jn 13:34, 15:12, 1Co 8:3, Gal 4:6-9

When you truly realize and believe that God loves you, by grace, and He’s never unfaithful and He will never leave you (ala Heb 13:5)… that’s when you’re resting in His sphere of love, even with no other person around.

Identifying Godly Love

The most distinguishing feature of godly love is its inexhaustible desire to give.

Love Becomes Us

Love is not only becoming – love BECOMES us. In other words, love is the lifeblood of who we are in Christ, as God’s children. We are earmarked for it (Rom 8:28-30; Eph 1:3-6). We are identified by it (Jn 13:35). God is glorified by it because He is the Giver (1Jn 4:11-13).

Godly love is truly transcendent. The beautiful thing about it is that it takes you with it on a journey that transports you (and your life by proxy) to an untouchable place. It protects you by removing you from the throes of the KoD.

God’s Faithful Love

Allow God’s faithful love to sweep you off your feet!

If He loved you while you were His enemy, while you were a selfish unbeliever… how much more does He love you now??? (Read Psalms & Romans, for examples)

Being in love has nothing to do with others.

Your strength and resilience in this world are from a root of love.
