Part 4 – Our Confidence Is a Grace Gift

If your base of operations re: confidence begins with your salvation, then it certainly is righteous in continuing right along into sanctification! (Php 1:6)

The experiential basis of our confidence is knowing we are righteous before God. We are most confident in our convictions when we KNOW we’re right (aka – righteous). In fact, we’re much more willing to fight the good fight when we know what our Bible says!

When you do “put on the armor” of the Word as a protective measure:

  • Externally:  You are “strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might” (Eph 6:10), for protection against Satan & the KoD.
  • Internally:  You “Make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires” (Rom 13:14), for protection against the old sin nature.

As a result, you are protected from all spiritual enemies.

God’s grace is sovereignly bestowed on those whom He chose from eternity past to receive it.

It’s always by grace through faith that we are sanctified. More sanctification means more confidence!

Our confidence before the Lord is provided to us by the Lord.

The Lord, Himself, encourages us (aka gives us the confidence) to approach the throne of grace with a familial heart. We do so, understanding that it’s HIM who calls us to Himself in the first place! This begins at salvation, even (Jn 6:44).
