KEY PRINCIPLES FROM THIS MESSAGE:
The Bible counsels us to pursue Wisdom before the need to apply it to our circumstances arises.
Sin predates all of us. It is ancient and intrinsically unrighteous in every way. We need to reject “him”.
When Wisdom repeatedly cries out to you and you ignore Her, then when you get what you deserve (Gal 6:7), you must accept your discipline. Remember, when God administers discipline, it is an act of grace from a Father who loves you and is fully intent on sanctifying you.
“injures” – Hebrew chamas – means to make bare, shake off, violate, do violence, take away violently, wrong, maltreat.
Pro 8:36[Amplified] “But he who fails to find me or sins against me injures himself; All those who hate me love and court death.”
When you read the Bible, it ought to be no different than if you were physically standing in front of God in Heaven, receiving “wisdom and instruction” (Pr 1:7) directly from His mouth, to you, personally.
Wisdom brings its owner great joy.
The Simple Life, With a View – blog 8/24/26
There is a multitude of facets that make up wisdom, but in the end, true wisdom is expressed in the simplest of terms. Jesus was so wise that pretty much everything He ever said was simple. Yet, we know that He understood every last nuance of the subject matters that He spoke of. This is one of my favorite things about Jesus. He spoke in primitives that, even under the most intense scrutiny and dissection, always held true. He stood on a mountain of Truth, forever inclined to share the view from the top for the sake of motivating His disciples. Jesus kept it simple and pure. Might we learn something from Him?
As Jesus taught, the best things in life are the simplest. Living a simple life of “faith, hope, and love” (ala 1 Corinthians 13:13) is the best life to live. This wisdom produces freedom.
Godly Wisdom predates mankind. It is ancient, immutable, and intrinsically righteous in every way. We need to listen to Her.
