KEY PRINCIPLES FROM THIS MESSAGE:
When you read the Bible, it ought to be no different than if you were physically standing in front of God in Heaven, receiving “wisdom and instruction” (Pr 1:7) directly from His mouth, to you, personally.
Wisdom brings its owner great joy.
Wisdom states that knowing God’s Word and walking by the Spirit are two different things (1Co 2:13-14). Knowledge alone is like sitting in a parked car with the engine running – the power is there, but you must put it into gear to move forward. This doesn’t happen if you’re not present to make the shift, if you’re not filled with, and therefore walking by, the Spirit.
Wisdom states that while God is merciful, He has the right to withdraw it at any time and administer His wrath against disobedience.
To grieve the Holy Spirit of God (Eph 4:30) is to put God to the test.
