OUTLINE:
Family Discipline APPLIED
The faithfulness of our God disciplines us when we need it, out of His tremendous love for us.
Family Discipline APPLIED
Godly discipline ensures we don’t just waste our lives away and have regrets for all eternity!
We’re On A Mission!
We have the greatest purpose we could ever imagine in life… to bring God glory in all that we do, and to reach out to others with the Good News of eternal life!
God Our Father Loves Us!
He will only let us ignore Him (or go through the motions) for so long… before He faithfully acts aggressively on our behalf.
Being Sanctified
How else would we grow and be conformed to the image of Christ without His hand upon us at times, interrupting our fleshly persuasions?
Perspective on Discipline
When it’s time for you to receive discipline from God or from His appointed authorities, humbly receive it for what it is; something good, something you NEED.
Family Discipline APPLIED
Our Father has shown me, an unfaithful selfish sinner, that He loves me enough to knock me around and show me the truth about myself.
The Good From Discipline
God’s plan includes training us and healing us, and that takes discipline at times because we don’t see our blind spots, but God does.
The Good From Discipline
The Spirit wants us to see discipline as a very good thing… in fact, something that brings us relief.
The Good From Discipline
By grace, He often takes His time with us, being patient and longsuffering. But when it’s time, just the right time in our lives, He is faithful to apply some heat and pressure, to conform us to the image of His Son.
The Good From Discipline
When we surrender to God and His wisdom and love for us, we are set free. We have relief from no longer being stubborn and living for ourselves!
Always Be Open To Correction
We should continually pray: “Lord, correct me, show me… I want to know! I don’t know what’s best for me ,YOU do.” Pr 26:12, Ro 12:3, 1Co 3:18, 1Co 8:2, Gal 6:3
Pr 26:12
Do you see a man who is wise in his own eyes?
There is more hope for a fool than for him.
Always Be Open To Correction

Ps 73:1
Truly God is good to Israel,
to those who are pure in heart.
Heb 11:6
And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
Take The Initiative, By Faith
Instead of living for self and being undisciplined, maybe we should habitually repent and give God more time and attention like He deserves. Gal 5:22-23, Heb 11:6
