KEY PRINCIPLES FROM THIS MESSAGE:
Why an Attitude of Gratitude Rocks – blog 4/26/24
When you live a life of gratitude, life becomes like a song. It’s contagious, too! You sing your way through it, in good times and bad, because you never lose sight of God’s grace. To you, nothing else matters but to worship God, bringing glory to Him in the process! That’s a very powerful place to be in this world, my friend. And that’s precisely where our loving Father in Heaven wants us – in His saving arms.
Why an Attitude of Gratitude Rocks – blog 4/26/24
I firmly believe that perspective is everything and that God’s perspective is the best! That’s what I want, as much as I can get it in this lifetime. I want His perspective of both myself and Himself. When I capture this perspective, life seems utterly simple, pleasant, peaceful, and free.
Abiding in the sphere of God’s love is a privilege. Own it. Live in it. Be grateful for it.
Matthew Henry on Jer 17:9
There is that wickedness in our hearts which we ourselves are not aware of and do not suspect to be there; nay, it is a common mistake among the children of men to think themselves, their own hearts at least, a great deal better than they really are.
The Futility of Human Flesh
We are INCAPABLE of beating sin at its own game! The nature of sin is that it is deceptive. This means that its first order of business is to go unidentified! ONLY the Light of the Word is able to illuminate sin, identify it, and then deal with it.
The Deceitfulness of Sin
“How does sin go undetected?” Answer: Mt 6:23 – when we exchange truth for a lie, light for darkness, good for bad, bitter for sweet, etc. (Is 5:20).
The Deceitfulness of Sin
Sin poses as a friend, as something good, even righteous, for us. (eg. Ps 55:21; Pr 5:3)
The Deceitfulness of Sin
You are incapable of controlling sin on your own! Sin wants to deceive you of this very truth; it wants you to think that you actually CAN control it so that you don’t cut if off (ala Mt 18:8-9), but you HAVEN’T, you CAN’T, you NEVER WILL!
Good soil bears good fruit.
