KEY PRINCIPLES FROM THIS MESSAGE:
What we think we know about God’s abundant pardoning is nothing compared to what God knows about it. (Is 55:6-9, Ps 103:11-12)
We should always be in awe of God’s forgiveness. It’s heavenly thinking. It’s way beyond what we even think it is as believers in His Word, as much higher as the heavens are above the earth.
In order for earthly wealth to be experienced as a blessing, it MUST be obtained from the only righteous Source, God, NOT the world. In other words, any gains in wealth must be done righteously. In order for earthly wealth to be experienced as a blessing, it MUST be obtained from the only righteous Source, God, NOT the world. In other words, any gains in wealth must be done righteously.
It’s not so much the blessings that matter, it’s what you think of them that counts. Any blessing from God is a good thing that inspires a humble heart towards a life of gratitude.
The sign of wisdom is a gentle and humble spirit. Re: Jas 3:13, the concept of meekness to the Greeks of this time is best described as “power under control”.
“made perfect” – from teleo – means to complete (consummate), reaching the intended end goal (same root word for tetelestai – “it is finished” spoken by Jesus on His Cross – Jn 19:30).
Wisdom says, “When you are weak, then you are strong.”Wisdom says, “When you are weak, then you are strong.”
William MacDonald on Human weakness
It is when we are conscious of our own weakness and nothingness that we most depend on the power of God. And it is when we are thus cast on Him in complete dependence that His power is manifested to us, and we are truly strong.
The Perpetual Idol Factory – blog 10/17/26
This “body of death” is an idol factory that won’t stop producing until the day we die (or are raptured off Earth). May we all recognize this Truth and be wise to the schemes of the devil (Ephesians 6:11) which are designed to tempt our human flesh to align with Satan. There’s great danger in rejecting this Truth about ourselves. We must “see it all as truth”, as I like to say.
J. H. Jowett from Life In the Heights
“There is something wrong when the vessel robs the treasure of its glory, when the casket attracts more attention than the jewel which it bears. There is a very perverse emphasis when the picture takes second place to the frame, and when the ware which is used at the feast becomes a substitute for the meal. There is something deadly in a Christian service when “the excellency of the power” is of us and not of God. Such excellency is of a very fleeting kind, and it will speedily wither as the green herb and pass into oblivion.”
