KEY PRINCIPLES FROM THIS MESSAGE:

A good church is a disciplined church.

The end goal of discipline is PEACE!

The best way to inspire change is to model it.

We should strive for excellence in all we do.

How do we, as a community, deal with sin in the church?

Sin in a local assembly is frustrating to peace. It also dims the light which we, as a church, are to shine forth into our community.

4 Steps of Church Discipline

  1. Private Consult (Mt 18:15; Gal 6:1)
  2. 2-3 Witnesses Consult (Mt 18:16; Deu 19:15)
  3. Church Consult (Mt 18:17; 1Co 6:1-6)
  4. Ejection from the Church (Mt 18:17; 1Co 5:13)

We are to deal with sin like a family. We keep it within the family by identifying, judging, and disciplining, as required.
