TODAY’S VERSES:
John 10:27-29 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.
We are currently learning about eternal security in prep school. Eternal security is being “forever protected” by God’s gift of salvation and His promise for eternal life with Him. We asked the kids what makes them feel secure. They shared some wonderful thoughts and Bible verses and we would like to share them with you:
“Knowing I will go to Heaven when I die, where I will be shielded from sin. Heaven is protected- in the movies Heaven has gates protected by angels, this is just like how God protects us.”
Psalms 3:3 But you, O Lord, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.
“Grace and forgiveness, getting a second chance, makes me feel happy and safe. It is a gift from God that reminds me that it is His work not mine”
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
”If I obey Him, I love Him. He loves me and this makes me feel protected.”
Psalm 1:1-3 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.
What could ever make us feel safer or more confident than knowing that the Creator of all things loves us and will always be with us? Nothing! How wonderful it is for us to be able to live our lives knowing that no matter how we feel, we are never alone and will never be without Him!
Joshua 1:5 No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you or forsake you.
You may be wondering how you get eternal security, this confidence that says you will be forever protected by God. Well, the Bible says:
Mark 1:15 “The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!”
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
John 5:24 Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes Him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.
Thank you, Jesus, for being born!
