Part 5 – Our Attitude Towards Wisdom

OUTLINE:

Our Attitude Towards Wisdom
Our attitude towards God’s wisdom is our attitude towards God. (and by the way, He’s the treasure!)
Eph 3:8-12,1Co 1:24c
Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.

Our Attitude Towards Wisdom
Today we have God’s Word in written form, at least what He wants us to discover… but even then, we mustn’t get arrogant, it’s up to the Sovereign Spirit of God to grant wisdom and understanding to the humble soul. We must never forget that!

Key Considerations In Your Soul
Do you look at wisdom as riches and wealth? Mt 6:33, 13:44-46, Job 28, Pr 2:1-11
How often do you pray for wisdom? 2Chr 1:10, Jas 1:5

Regarding Pr 2:4-5,11
If we invest in God’s wisdom, it will actually protect us, and reveal to us the things of God.

Eternally Saved From Death!
If we go about life holding onto this true perspective, we can’t help but be happy and grateful, and we won’t really care about the other details of our lives!! Col 1:13-14

Key Considerations In Your Soul
Why don’t we ask God for spiritual things??
Why is asking for wisdom closer to the bottom of our list than the top (if it is)??

God’s After Our Hearts
Knowing and loving God is of far greater importance to God than the sacrifices we make.
Mk 12:28-34

Jas 1:5
But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

2 Chr 1:10
“Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people, for who can rule this great people of Yours?”

Jn 5:39-40 TLB
“You search the Scriptures, for you believe they give you eternal life.
And the Scriptures point to me! Yet you won’t come to me so that I can give you this life eternal!

Jn 5:39-40 MSG
”You have your heads in your Bibles constantly because you think you’ll find eternal life there. But you miss the forest for the trees. These Scriptures are all about me! And here I am, standing right before you, and you aren’t willing to receive from me the life you say you want”.

Ps 5:7
But as for me, by Your abundant lovingkindness I will enter Your house, At Your holy temple I will bow in reverence for You.

Our Attitude Towards Wisdom/ Knowing God
God is after the heart of man, and He graciously gives His wisdom to those who seek Him in the fear of the Lord, as both David and Solomon did. And love for God must be THE motivation.

SEEK and You Will FIND!!
Jer 29:13‘You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.
Mt 7:7Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
Heb 11:6And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

Our Attitude Towards Wisdom
Nothing compares to possessing God’s wisdom and actually understanding God.

The Value of Wisdom
Do you value wisdom enough to seek for it diligently? (Mt 13:44-46; Lk 11:5-10)

Our Attitude Towards Wisdom
It’s only through the right attitude and humility towards Wisdom that we can be delivered! Pr 8 & 9
