OUTLINE:
Heb 12:10b
“[God] disciplines us for our good, that we may share his holiness.”
Unconfessed Sin and Unrepentance
Unconfessed/unrepented sin is like a splinter – until it is removed, it causes pain. While you may not even see the splinter, you know it is there because the pain tells you that it is.
Repentance
The end goal of godly discipline is repentance.
Putting Repentance Into Perspective
Repentance is the pathway to healing! (Repentance means to have a change of mind)
Deliverance is but a change of perspective away!
Heb 12:11 [Amplified]
For the time being no discipline brings joy, but seems sad and painful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness [right standing with God and a lifestyle and attitude that seeks conformity to God’s will and purpose].
