OUTLINE:
Psa 14:1
The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds; there is none who does good.
Isa 32:6
For the fool speaks folly, and his heart is busy with iniquity, to practice ungodliness, to utter error concerning the LORD, to leave the craving of the hungry unsatisfied, and to deprive the thirsty of drink.
Disrespectful “Christians”
“We need a view of the Bible that is nuanced enough to treasure its comforts and challenges, its classic stories and groundbreaking ethical wisdom, while facing the plain fact that some of it is unacceptable.”
Pro 1:7
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Ro 9:20
But who are you, O man, to answer back to God? Will what is molded say to its molder, “Why have you made me like this?”
“Practicing” Arrogance
When an arrogant person is ignorant, they simply modify the world around them to suit themselves…and then they call it “truth”.
Pr 26:12
Do you see a man who is wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.
What is Humility, Really? – blog 6/18/21
True humility implies obedience to the Word of God.
Humility Means Obedience, and Vice Versa
- You can’t be humble and disobedient.
- You can’t be obedient (in a way pleasing to God) and not humble.
What is “Appropriate” According to God’s Word?
The Bible calls out “fools” as lacking the ability to do what is appropriate in God’s eyes. The primary reason is a disrespect for God – fools do not fear the Lord; therefore, their moral compass is evil and misleading.
