A Little Walk, a Little Encouragement
God designed the Body of Christ to be knit together in the sphere of love. The Word of God is the object of our fellowship. “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105). “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly”(Colossians 3:16a).

Jn 1:14
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Rev 3:18
I [the Lord] counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, so that you may be rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself and the shame of your nakedness may not be seen, and salve to anoint your eyes, so that you may see.

Is 32:17
And the effect of righteousness will be peace, and the result of righteousness, quietness and trust forever.

Unrighteousness = Sin = Discord
What we’ve learned is that peace is the result of our Lord’s promise to give it (“My peace I leave with you” – Jn 14:27). However, we’ve also learned that such promises are conditioned, experientially, upon our obedience (Ps 112:1; Pr 16:7; Jn 13:17; Jas 1:25; 2Jn 1:6).

“the peaceful fruit of righteousness”
Peace is a function of righteousness. Righteousness is a function of obedience of faith (both at salvation, when it is imputed, and experientially, when it is imparted). Peace reigns in the heart and soul of God.

Ro 8:6
For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace.

We Lose Experiential Peace When We…

– Allow the flesh to dominate our perspective (Ro 8:6)

– Stop rejoicing, praying, and giving thanks (1Th 5:16-18)

– Try to architect our own peace (Ro 5:10-11)
Finding Peace
If you want more peace in your life, then be a better listener!

“implanted”
from emphutos – means properly, implant, bring into living union like with a successfully engrafted shoot

Peace From Obedience
If we want peace, we must obey God’s commands. Obedience implies very practical lifestyle choices, not just mental assent to obedience. While we can’t “fake it ’til we make it”, we can at least humble ourselves, learning humility through life, itself. God gives faith (Ro 12:3) that leads to obedience that leads to peace.

Gal 3:3
Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?

Heb 13:8
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

A Little Walk, a Little Encouragement
God loves you. I love you. Your brothers and sisters in Christ love you. Don’t give the devil an opportunity to spoil this precious gift which exists between members of God’s family.
